Taikoo Sugar was established by Swire in 1881. The Taikoo Sugar Refinery in Hong Kong went into production in 1884 and soon became the world's largest and most sophisticated plant in its day. For over a century, Taikoo Sugar has embraced quality and innovation in its products to become a much-loved brand for generations.

The company markets premium sugar products, tea, coffee, salt and pepper in to retail, catering and industrial trades in Hong Kong and Mainland China where it operates packaging plants. Taikoo Sugar also has a well-established export business, and currently markets branded sugar products in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and North America.
Taikoo sugar carries white granulated sugar, unrefined sugar, cube sugar, rock sugar, icing/caster sugar, syrup, fructose, slimmer, and instant beverages.
