Message from Chairman

Welcome to the website of the Hong Kong Brand Development Council (the BDC).

In today's fast-paced and ever-challenging business environment, brand has become an indispensible factor for an enterprise, an organisation and even an economy to sustain their competitiveness. With the epicenter of Hong Kong's economy shifting towards high value-added and creative activities, our whole community including the Government has attached increasing importance to branding, providing an additional impetus for local enterprises to quicken their pace in brand development. Meanwhile, our country is moving towards a new stage of high-quality development, which, coupled with the rise of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, has brought Hong Kong brands enormous opportunities for growth and ample space to upgrade.

Initiated by the CMA in 2005, the BDC is a vision-driven, non-profit-making organisation, aiming to build a flagship to spearhead brand development by leveraging on a "Market Leads, Government Facilitates, and Community Supports" tripartite model.

While exploring and advocating an overall strategy for advancing Hong Kong's brand development and assisting the Government to implement related policies, the BDC has been playing the role of a facilitator and coordinator, in an attempt to pool together the resources in our community and set up a "one-stop" platform to support the branding efforts of local industries. By adhering to a pragmatic approach, the Council has continuously rolled out ground-breaking initiatives in the fields of brand accreditation, certification, promotion, nurturing, research, exchanges and cross-border cooperation.

This website is not only an on-line portal for promoting Hong Kong brands, but also one of the channels through which we update the public how the Council is going along. We look forward to having you on the exciting journey of "branding to win" and joining hands to promote "Hong Kong Brand" as a world-class label and develop Hong Kong into a star-studded brands hub.
