The founder of Chinese Today Press was a reporter of China News Service (CNS); and she was responsible for publishing a monthly magazine namely "Chinese Today" when working at the Shenzhen branch. In 2005, she established the Hong Kong-based Chinese Today Press with the support of the CNS. Since its inception, Chinese Today Press has re-launched an eponymous "Chinese Today" and published a variety of magazines and books, while branching out into diversified businesses such as event planning.
Nowadays, Chinese Today Press has spanned a wide variety of cultural industries, covering publishing, new media, film and television. In addition to eight magazines, namely "Chinese Today" , "Chinese Economy" , "Outstanding Figures" , "Honour Magazine" , "Hong Kong Spirit" , "Haojiang in the Prosperity" , "Famous Magazine" and "China and America Photography" , it published 4 books including "Outstanding Figures" and "Hong Kong Spirit — In Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Establishment of HKSAR" . In particular, the signature magazine "Chinese Today" focuses on introducing the successful people from various fields in Hong Kong and the latest information of the Greater Bay Area. It has published more than 180 issues and become an important platform to promote the success stories of Hong Kong Chinese.
Chinese Today Press has seized important historical moments and launched a host of cultural activities that reflect the society and help to enlighten the mind. It has held "Person of the Year Award" since 2016, with over 300 people having been honoured with this cachet up to now and nearly one million cumulatively having watched the presentation ceremony online and offline.
Chinese Today Press is keen to give back to the society. It made donations to "The Hong Kong — Fujian Hope Project Foundation" from time to time, joined the "Spark Rainbow Project" in 2007, and led its employees to participate in "Community Chest Walk for Millions" . During the COVID-19 epidemic, reporters of the Press donated medical materials to frontline anti-epidemic personnel and oragnised a large-scale online interactive event "Fighting the Epidemic with Culture" to convey positive message to the community.
