Founded in 1956, Hong Kong Maxim's Group is a leading food and beverage company that operates Chinese, Asian and European restaurants, fast food restaurants, bakery shops and institutional catering, while providing a wide range of festive products including award-winning HONG KONG MX Mooncake. The Group is also the licensee of renowned brands like "Starbucks Coffee", "Genki Sushi", "IPPUDO ramen" and "The Cheesecake Factory". Altogether, it runs over 980 outlets in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines and Thailand; and delivers airline catering service in 14 Mainland cities through Sino-Foreign joint ventures.
Over the years, HONG KONG MX Mooncakes have won numerous awards that attract local and international attention. As the first local mooncake brand to receive the "Hong Kong Q-Mark", HONG KONG MX has been the market leader for 23 consecutive years in terms of mooncakes sales (according to the Nielsen Research Report from 1998 to 2020). HONG KONG MX has enhanced a series of bakery products through continuous improvement, so as to cater to the different needs of customers. Since its inception in 2014, the innovative series "Lava Custard Mooncake" has been the bestseller among Hong Kong egg custard mooncakes for 6consecutive years. In 2020, MX Mooncakes introduced the exclusive "Lace Mooncake", ushering in a new trend in mooncake market. The unique stringy delicacy stays fresh even at room temperature, with long strings of salted egg yolk coming off fantastically in every bite.
Maxim's Group has been actively engaged in social responsibility activities with an aim to contribute to the community. In 2020, it made a cash donation of over HK$4.2 million together with an in-kind donation amounting to nearly HK$14 million, which benefited over 100organisations. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Group not just shared 100,000 surgical face masks with staff members, but also donated 200,000 masks to the elderly and visually-impaired as well as 100,000 pieces of mooncakes to the underprivileged families. Moreover, Maxim's Group invited its business partners to support the "Surplus Bread Donation Programme" and over 150,000 pieces of bread were donated.
